Plans For Bird RV Park Nearly Ready

Business owners and brothers Cameron and Kevin Palmer have been working since 2008 to open the Birds of Paradise Park, a bird-watching-themed campground on a vacant parcel formerly used for commercial flower-growing along Wavecrest Road. The project would include spaces for 62 RV visitors and a 33-room expansion of Cameron’s Inn & Restaurant.
When it was first unveiled, the development was cheered by elected officials and many other locals as a viable way to promote eco-tourism. In the years since, it languished from a lack of investment money and a string of added costs that needed to be settled before opening.
