Bicycle Racers Give RV Park Award
It may not be as exciting as winning Olympic gold, to be sure, but the residents and Winter Texans of Posada del Sol RV Park in Harlingen, Texaas, are just as thrilled with their pewter Jalapeño 100 trophy, the Brownsville Herald reported.
The bicycle ride rally committee awards a $100 prize and trophy to the best rest stop of the dozen or so booths along the 100-mile route.
After accepting the trophy Friday, the volunteers unanimously decided to split their earnings between Sunny Glen Children’s Home and the Blue Sunday program for foster children.
The folks from Posada del Sol, led by Don and Vicki Chatterton, are seasoned participants in this Rio Grande Valley charity effort as their group brought home the rest stop winning trophy two previous times during the decade since the RV park began its involvement with the Jalapeño 100.
