Residents of Paradise RV Park in Harlingen, Texas, donated $1,551, hundreds of pounds of cat and dog food, towels, blankets and toys to the Harlingen Humane Society on Friday, March 7, the Brownsville Herald reported.

After a recent news article reporting that the Humane Society was in need of financial help, the residents took it upon themselves to collect items that the animals needed.

Residents worked tirelessly through the month of February, collecting what the society needed, having dog shows, selling raffle tickets and collecting donations.

The park hosted a dog adoption day, which resulted in two adoptions.

Park Activity Director Linda Anklam said the residents have really come through with support.

“The residents have done phenomenal, and I am so proud of them,” Anklam said.
