A Cape Breton campground owner said he doesn’t know much about a reported car-jumping incident that sent a Riverview, New Brunswick, man to a Halifax hospital with life-threatening injuries, the Chronicle Herald reported Wednesday (July 30). They say in the last couple of years, campers have increasingly turned to renting rather than tenting. Federal land managers are barring overnight stays at a popular camping area near eastern Utah’s Book Cliffs after a black bear broke into two unoccupied RVs, rummaged through cupboards and chewed cans, the Associated Press reported. Water is in very short supply at the Abrams Lake Mobile Estate and RV Park in Mount Shasta, Calif., the Mount Shasta News reported. All RV hookups are now offered only without water.
