Bill Would Help Remove Problem Guests

The New York Senate passed a bill that would help campgrounds remove disruptive campers, television station WVNY reported.

The bill would allow campgrounds and campground owners to provide for the removal of people from a campground when they create a disturbance or violate a law.

It would also allow the return of pre-paid fees and the disposal of property belonging of people who are removed from a campground or who abandon items at a campground.

“Camping is a wonderful vacation especially important to our North Country economy. A bad actor or two can ruin the experience for others, which fortunately doesn’t happen often. In the event it does, campgrounds need to know what they legally can do, or can’t do, something current law does not address,” New York Sen. Betty Little, R-C-I Queensbury, said.
