Wildlife officials are investigating the death of another grizzly bear in Northwest Montana, the Flathead Beacon reported. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) spokesperson John Fraley said a dead male grizzly bear was discovered at the Yaak Falls Campground near Troy on May 24. FWP game wardens and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are investigating the death. Fraley was unable to provide further details. The U.S. Forest Service says it’s waiving day-use and campground fees for a day in the Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests in Vermont and New York, the Associated Press reported. The June 13 event is in recognition of the National Get Outdoors Day. Forest Supervisor John Sinclair says the fee-free days are a way of thanking visitors while encouraging more people to enjoy the national forests. A tiny black bear found roaming a campground Monday got a lift in an Oregon State Police cruiser to Oregon State University for care, television station KPIC reported. Glacier National Park officials have closed an area near the Bowman Lake Campground after a mountain lion killed a deer there in broad daylight on May 19 and dragged it off into the woods, the Hungry Horse News of Columbia Falls, Mont., reported.
