Wholesale shipments to retailers of all RVs finished up 2015 quite strongly, rising to 28,025 units in the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA’s) December survey of manufacturers, 4.8% ahead of the final month of 2014 and the largest December total since 2005. For the year as a whole, all RV shipments reached 374,246 total units, an increase over the previous year of 4.9% and the best yearly total since 2006. The calendar includes activities beginning in April through September. Thursday night (Jan. 28) people weighed in on the possibility of a new car racetrack in Kalkaska County, Mich., television station WWTV reported. The property for a new proposed track is in Boardman Township near Vista Green RV Resort. Imperial County, Calif., celebrated Wednesday (Jan. 27) the 25th anniversary of the Sunbeam Lake RV Resort in Seeley, the Imperial Valley News reported. Cavco Industries Inc. announced its financial results for its third fiscal quarter, which ended Dec. 26, and the park model RV and manufactured housing maker saw big jumps in net revenue, net income and pre-tax income. Part of the boost came from Cavco’s 2015 acquisitions of Chariot Eagle and Fairmont Homes. Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon received the 2015 Sheldon Coleman Great Outdoors Awards at a ceremony in Jefferson City, Mo., today (Jan. 28). Recreation leaders from the private and public sectors joined the American Recreation Coalition (ARC) and the Coleman Co. as Nixon received the recreation community’s most prestigious award.  Nixon shares the 2015 award with Wyoming Gov.
