The Bandera County (Texas) Sheriff’s Office got to work evacuating people from parts of the county at 2 a.m. Sunday (May 29), television station KENS reported. The sheriff’s office beckoned people to get to higher ground as flood waters rose overnight quickly. A campground manager died after being pinned underwater beneath his tractor Friday night (May 27) in Greendale, Ind., radio station WSCH reported. Glenn Burris, 46, of Aurora, worked at Horseshoe Campground in Greendale. The property – visible from Interstate 275 in Dearborn County – is a popular spot for campers in the spring and summer. Total shipments to retailers were reported at 40,064 units in the April survey of manufacturers conducted by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), 4.5% greater than this same month last year. Year-to-date total RV shipments have reached 148,259 units this year, the best start to any year since 2006 and the second-best start since 1977.
