While the Lake Arrowhead State Park Campground  near Wichita Falls, Texas, has been closed to campers all summer, the campsites will reopen in time for the Labor Day Holiday, Texomashomepage.com reported.

After being closed the second consecutive summer because of  heavy spring rains, all 91 campsites will be available for use beginning Thursday (Sept. 1).

Heavy rainfall this spring caused flooding and the waste water system at Lake Arrowhead couldn’t keep up, forcing the campgroundto shut down all summer.

“It’s an exciting time for us to be fully operational for the first time in fourth months,” Keith Gauthier, Lake Arrowhead Park superintendent, said. “What I mean by that is the campsites are going to be be open, the bathrooms, the trail system is going to be available for the public as well as the disc-golf and day-use areas as well.”
