The Forsyth, Ga., Kampgrounds of America (KOA) campground has just added Forsyth Mining Co. for those who would like to pan for gold and fossils and will soon open its new 18-hole miniature-golf course, according to a story by the Monroe County Reporter.

Ken Bowman, owner of the Forsyth KOA, updated the Forsyth City Council on the addition of new amenities on Monday (May 15).

He said that good weather has helped work go quickly. He just had a trial run on panning for treasure at the Forsyth Mining Co.  It went well as three children in a family from Griffin were all pleased with the treasures they recovered, he reported.

The miniature-golf course will open June 1.
