Spring is a month away, and those with cabin fever that are just itching to get out in the warmer weather and experience everything that the great outdoors has to offer can get a taste of spring at this weekend’s Springfield RV, Camping and Outdoor Show in Springfield, Mass.

The annual event – held in the Better Living Center, Mallary Complex and Young Building on the grounds of the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield – opens its doors Friday (Feb. 16) for four days, according to

“Spring really is coming and a lot of people are anticipating the camping season and looking for new rigs and new places to camp, as well as kinds of accessories for their rigs,” said Ann Marie Yager of Pioneer Valley Chapter 8 (PV8) of the North American Family Camper’s Association, organizers of the event.

Members volunteer their time to set up and create the show, which they refer to as “a show for campers by campers.”

“Camping promotes family time … getting off of your cellular devices for a while and spending some fun family time outdoors playing games and gathering around the campfire and talking and telling stories,” said PV8 member Sherri Langevin.

Some 25 RV dealers and over 80 campgrounds will be on hand at the show to display their latest RVs and show off the many amenities that await visitors at their campgrounds. Shoppers can look for the best deals and explore an array of RVs from high-end luxurious motorhomes – that can cost into the millions of dollars decked out with a full kitchen, bar, living room, multiple bedrooms, washer and dryer, large-screen TV and other extravagant additions that put new meaning into the term “roughing it” in the great outdoors – to campers, travel trailers and more.
