KOA Big Weekend Numbers Increase Nearly 5%

Campers kicked off the 2018 summer camping season at Kampgrounds of America (KOA) parks last weekend in huge numbers for the annual KOA Care Camps ‘Big Weekend’ event, according to a press release.
The annual event raises funds to support more than 125 specialized North American summer camps for children with cancer and their siblings.
Camping check-ins for the May 11-12 Big Weekend event were up nearly 5% over the results from 2017’s Big Weekend. More than 400 KOA campgrounds in North America participated.
Campers who stayed as paying guests on Friday, May 11 received a night of camping on Saturday, May 12 for just $20. The entire $20 fee went directly to the KOA Care Camps charity.
