Inn Town Campground Partners With Yuba Bus

With a reported 800,000 visitors annually, the South Yuba River is a popular destination that has historically had parking challenges, according to a press release.

Visitor parking is extremely limited, with only about 34 legal spaces at Highway 49 Crossing. To address the issue and offer regional visitors staying at Nevada City’s (Calif.) Inn Town Campground an opportunity to access the river without the hassle of driving and parking, the campground has joined with Yuba Bus to offer twice daily shuttle service Thursday through Sunday.

“The South Yuba River State Park-Highway 49 Crossing is one of the most popular spots along the river to stop, and where we often recommend our guests visit because of its convenience,” said Erin Thiem, co-owner of the Inn Town Campground. “It makes sense for the Inn Town Campground to be a pick-up and drop-off location for Yuba Bus as their services will make it easy for our guests to access the Yuba, and will hopefully help alleviate traffic and parking issues at the river.”

Yuba Bus will operate the Yuba River Shuttle daily from June 9 through September 23, with pick-up times scheduled at the Inn Town Campground at 8:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., and return service from the river scheduled at 12:15 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or on-site as space is available.

Round-trip service is $15 for adults and $10 for children.

Yuba Bus is a community partner with the South Yuba River’s Citizens League (SYRCL) to provide a safe, informative and responsible experience at the South Fork of the Yuba River. Learn more at
