Mo. Park Returns To The Jellystone Park Network

Branson Family Campground in Forsyth, Mo., has rejoined the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort network after a two-year hiatus, according to a press release.

The campground had previously been a Jellystone Park, but left the franchise network under its previous owners. When Jeremy and Lacy Stucky acquired the park in late 2017 they knew they wanted to join the Jellystone Park network again.

“It’s a super nice park. It’s very well maintained with concrete streets and RV pads,” Jeremy Stucky said of the park, which is about a 10-minute drive from Branson.

The park has 65 RV and tent sites and 14 cabins, the largest of which can sleep 12.

“We plan to add two more cabins that sleep six to eight in the near future,” explained Stucky.

Campground amenities include a swimming pool, a jumping pillow and pedal carts. The Stuckys have also purchased a gaga ball pit, as well as a foam machine, which produces enormous amounts of foam that children can play in when they have “foam parties” at the park.

The Stuckys are new to the campground business, having previously owned and operated an auto repair shop in Kansas, but they found they kept coming back to the Branson area on vacation. So, when Branson Family Campground came up for sale they decided to buy it and go into the campground business.

They also thought having a campground would be a great setting to raise their two children, Bethany and Cody.

“We love the Ozarks, love Branson. It was a pretty easy decision,” Stucky said.

He said the park serves as a base camp for people visiting Branson, as well as recreational lakes, such as Lake Taneycomo, a cold water lake known for its trout fishing, and Bull Shoals Lake, which is popular with both boating and fishing enthusiasts.

Stucky said themed weekend activities started in May and will continue until the end of October. Special activities are being planned for Father’s Day weekend (June 15-17), including a watermelon seed-spitting contest, tug-of-war, root beer chugging competition, a “Ms. Jellystone” pageant, Friday night movie with free popcorn, a hot dog bar on Saturday night and an omelette breakfast on Sunday morning.

Other themed weekends will include a “Chocolate Lovers Weekend,” a “Carnival Weekend,” a “Pet Lover’s Weekend,” a “Christmas in July” weekend and several other themed weekends leading up to October, which many consider to be the best month of the year in the Ozarks.  Every weekend in October will be geared towards celebrating autumn or Halloween. There will be trick-or-treating, site-decorating contests, the Magic Pumpkin Patch, and a chili cook-off, all with cool fall evenings and crackling campfires.
