Michigan’s ‘Pictured Rocks’ Considers Fee Increase

There is a proposed campground fee increase that would see the per night cost for all drive-in campgrounds at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore jump to $20 across the board starting in May 2019, according to MLive.com.

The national park posted the proposed campground fee increase for Little Beaver, Twelvemile Beach and Hurricane River to its Facebook page.

As it currently stands, the cost per night for the three campgrounds is $14 per night with some lakeside sites at Twelvemile coming in at $16 per night. The proposed increase would increase fees across the board to $20 per night, even the lakeside spots at the park.

“Campsite revenue is used to support projects that improve visitor experiences including maintaining and improving campground facilities, hiking trails, visitor centers, as well as funding seasonal work positions,” Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore wrote on Facebook.
