ARVC’s 2018 OHCE is set to kickoff next week in Oklahoma City.

Officials at the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) are busy putting the finishing touches on the 2018 Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE), which is set to run from Nov. 5-8 in Oklahoma City, Okla., at the Cox Convention Center.

“We are incredibly excited for next week and our members are getting excited too,” Paula Horwitz, ARVC’s senior director of education and events, told “We have tons of new opportunities like our new conference app, sponsored by Campground Automation, which enables attendees to customize their schedule for the week while they are at the conference. Tools like that which will allow our attendees to engage with all elements of the conference — schedules, vendors, the ARVC team and other attendees.

“Our team has been working for months to make this the best OHCE ARVC has ever put on,” she continued. “Most of our team arrives on Saturday (Nov. 3) to start the onsite preparations and get ready for the event to kick off on Monday. It’s going to be a week of learning, networking and fun.”

David Basler, senior director of membership and marketing, said that more than 720 attendees are expected at this year’s OHCE, a number that he expects to see grow over the next few days.

“What’s even more exciting is the number of ‘unique campground’ owners expected to attend this year is up 14% year over year,” he noted. “When it comes to getting business done, OHCE is going to be the place to be this year. Sure attendees are coming for the expo, but the unmatched educational opportunities, the launch of our new website and announcements of new member benefits have people talking too.”

The vendor side has also seen some growth, as more than 110 different vendors are taking part in this years expo, according to Paul Bambei, president of ARVC.

“Our Expo this year is going to be an amazing opportunity for campground owners and operators to find everything they need to make their RV parks and campgrounds successful,” he explained. “We have more than 280 representatives from these 110 different vendors that will be offering everything from reservation systems to furniture, amenities to supplies and ancillary revenue driving products.”

Set to be the culmination of a busy 2018 for most park owners, this year’s OHCE will once again focus heavily on education as dozens of educational seminars — mixed in with Q&A sessions and speeches — are going to help keep attendees stay on top of trends in the camping sector.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Billy Riggs, a motivational speaker and illusionist, who will be speaking about overcoming challenges.

On Tuesday, Paul Bambei, president of ARVC, will give an update on the association and some of the association’s focuses going into 2019 during the opening general session.
