Minn. Seeks Applicants for Parks, Trail Legacy

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and other state agencies, have begun accepting applications for the Parks and Trails Legacy Advisory Committee.

The 17-member committee, originally formed in 2012, is responsible for implementing the 25-year Parks and Trails Legacy Plan. The plan is designed to increase visitors to Minnesota’s state and regional parks, and to promote natural resources in areas with growing populations.

Eight new committee members will be chosen. The members serve 2-year terms with the option of being reappointed for up to three terms.

The Parks and Trails Legacy fund was one of four funds created by the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment.
