"Rollin' On TV" Adds Destination Segment

Market growing in 2013

Begining in the new 2015 broadcast season which starts Jan. 11, "Rollin' On TV" will begin airing a weekly segment dedicated to RV destination which includes campgrounds and resorts.

"We feel that the growth and popularity of 'Rollin’ On TV' is greatly due to the fact that we listen to our viewers," said Jose Moniz.

"We’re constantly getting emails in our feedback mail and a couple of years ago many of our viewers were asking for stories on RV manufacturers and what goes into building their products. Based on that feedback we started our 'Inside' feature, profiling and going inside some of the country's best-known RV manufacturers. That turned out to be an extremely popular and successful segment for us and for companies featured. The ‘Inside” segment will continue for 2015," Moniz explained.

"For the past year, viewers have been asking for stories on where to go, places to stay and things to do. Needless to say, we’re listening and will begin producing weekly stories on RV destinations including popular and well-known locations to the many out-of-the-way 'hidden gems,'" he said.

This segment will allow various regions, camp grounds and resorts to be showcased each week gaining national exposure on both television and various internet outlets.

Schmarders Spending '90 Days Down Under'

90 DaysThe RV Cooking Show has joined forces with PathFinder OutDoor Destinations in Australia to launch the 90daysdownunder: 2 Americans 1 Road Trip tour, designed to explore and inspire Australian caravan holiday park, travel, and food experiences in the land down under.

The new RV/caravan travel brand and tour was developed following discussions between Evanne Schmarder, host and producer of the RV Cooking Show and frequent contributor to Woodall's Campground Management, and Terry Goodall, principal at PathFinder.

The tour is slated to promote lesser-known but just-as-spectacular locales, attractions, national and public parks, farms, fisheries, wineries, and types of lodging that capture the interest of both RVers and those that enjoy the campground experience but prefer cabin camping. It’s an exciting opportunity for both active RVers and armchair travelers to learn how to enjoy their own road trip down under,” remarked Schmarder.

RV Cooking Show and PathFinder are working closely with "Rollin’ On TV" — the popular RV television show reaching more than 30 million homes in the U.S. both on cable and satellite — What’s Up Down Under (WUDU) – the popular Australian caravanning and camping TV show, hosted by Frankie J Holden and airing every week — Jayco Australia — which is providing Evanne and Ray’s Jayco Conquest motorhome — and Mitchelton Wines from Nagambie in Victoria.

Terry Goodall, former CEO of BIG4 Holiday Parks, developed PathFinder to assist accommodation properties in the outdoor recreation sector to develop and move to the next level. Goodall explained that his connection with Evanne and her husband/partner Ray has resulted in a strong partnership and that this 90 Days Road Trip is the start of what will be a series of such promotional tours. “With today’s changing marketplace and the fact that holidaymakers are looking for an experience – not just a holiday – PathFinder and the RV Cooking Show wanted to create a new and exciting concept for our industry.

The tour is now in its third week, having been through Anglesea and across the Great Ocean Road, to the gorgeous dairy-producing town of Warrnambool, Halls Gap in the heart of the Grampian National Park, Ballarat, rich with goldfield history, the wide-open wine and horse country of Nagambie, and has just crossed the border into New South Wales — Mulwala  — a foodie wonderland.

At each of the 23 locations along the way Evanne and Ray will be filming and photographing what the locations have to offer – scenery, shops, restaurants, local foods and wines and of course the holiday parks that will be hosting them. This footage will then be used on the television shows, the RV Cooking Show, provided to the participating parks for their own promotional purposes and ultimately made into a DVD.

Evanne Schmarder will also write about her experiences in WCM.

Rollin’ On TV Announces its Largest Expansion

Market growing in 2013

“Rollin’ On TV” (ROTV) announced the largest single expansion of its television coverage since the show began in mid 2010, according to a press release.

Starting April 1, ROTV can be seen on Altitude Sports, which has complete cable coverage in nine states: Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota. Along with the cable coverage, Altitude Sports can also be seen nationally on the Dish Network channel 410 and on Direct TV channel 681SD and 682HD.

Altitude Sports is the home for the Denver Nuggets (NBA), Colorado Avalanche (NHL) and the Colorado Rapids (MLS) and is also an ESPN college football affiliate for the Western Conference, Big East Network and the SEC Network.

The addition of Altitude Sports will increase ROTV’s total household reach by another 8 million-plus homes and increase its cable coverage to 30 states along with nationwide coverage on both satellite systems.

Additionally, ROTV is in negotiations with another sports network and three network affiliate stations. the company reported that by June ROTV will have a total household reach of over 35 million homes.

Rollin' On TV to Begin Airing on Elkhart Station

"Rollin’ On TV" announced that it will begin airing on WSJV FOX 28 in Elkhart, Ind., on Jan. 1.

The premiere on WSJV will feature a special program looking back at 2011 and the companies, destinations and stories covered by "Rollin’ On TV" this past season. Regularly scheduled programs will begin on Jan. 8 with a segment on Sportsmobile West along with a special Dutch Oven cooking segment with host Jeff Johnston.

In addition, "Rollin’ On TV" announced that Winegard Co. and Duncan Systems will be sponsors for 2012.

Winegard, based in Burlington, Iowa, is a leading satellite antenna producer and in the forefront of RV satellite TV systems with its popular Trav’ler series. Duncan Systems, with headquarters in Elkhart and locations in Florida and Arizona is a leading supplier of RV replacement glass and most recently offers repair of fogged-up RV glass.

Rollin' On TV picks Up New Stations, Networks

Rollin’ On TV announced that it has increased its station and network lineup, RVBUSINESS.com reported.

Beginning next week viewers in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota can watch the show, which  is dedicated to the RV lifestyle, on the MIDCO Sports Network on Tuesdays at 7 p.m., Thursdays at noon, and Sundays  at 10 a.m.

Also, viewers living in the Evansville, Ind., area can watch the show on Saturday and Sunday mornings on WTVW  Local 7. (Check local listings for times)

Rollin’ On TV said it also plans to add four additional stations starting in September for the fall programming season. The information will be posted on the company’s website at http://www.rollinontv.com/index.html.

In additon Rollin’ On TV is partnering with the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) in sponsoring the first “Road Chef” competition to be held at the FMCA’s 86th Family Reunion and Motorhome Showcase in Madison, Wis., Aug. 10-13.

FMCA members have been submitting their recipes over the past month and the three finalists selected will face off at the Madison reunion. Rollin’ On TV will be covering the whole event and airing it in an upcoming episode.
