CampgroundViews.com has partnered with Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) to show off their futuristic technology that is being implemented at the “Campground of the Future” display during the inaugural RVX event in Salt Lake City, Utah, which is being held this week.
According to a press release, the company is providing a first look at their latest technology integrating a 360 video experience with augmented reality to allow travelers to better find the perfect place to camp.
“We are truly bringing the future into today with our latest iteration of the 360 virtual tour experience,” stated Mark Koep, founder and CEO of CampgroundViews.com. “Think about the significance of good ‘ole camping being a leading industry in the virtual and augmented reality future.”
As part of the “Campground of the Future” display KOA has taken a look into the future for what camping and campgrounds will be like in another decade. Part of that experience will start before guests even arrive, when they are able to virtually tour the destination and use augmented reality experiences to pick a site, view amenities and book their stay.
It is the next best thing to actually visiting a park and touring it in person, according to the release
"We live in a visual and digital world. When campers tour a property using one of our 360 videos they want the ability to be able to pick and book their perfect site. We are making that a reality today,” added Mr. Koep.
The technology will be on display at the “Campground of the Future” display during the RVX event at the Salt Palace. Mark Koep will be on hand during the event to address questions and show off the experience.
The $50 billion recreational vehicle market keeps finding new horizons to explore and the next leg of the journey begins this week when the industry gathers in Salt Lake City, UT, for a revitalized trade show that is aligned with the start of camping season.
