Man Dies While Repairing Vehicle At Virginia Park (3/8/2019)

A Virginia man was killed at a Nebo campground Thursday (March 7) when a car he was working on fell on him, authorities said.

The accident happened at 4:30 p.m. at a campground on Bear Cliff Drive, according to The News Herald

Douglas Earl Caracofe, 66, of Crimore, Va., was camping with friends at the site.

According to McDowell County Sheriff's Office Detective Van Williams, they were working on a car, jacked it up, and Caracofe got underneath it. At some point, the jack broke.
