Thousand Trails Park Evacuated Due to Flood Risk (2/5/2019)

Story by Woodall's Campground Management

The Morgan Hills Rv Resort in Morgan Hill, Calif., evacuated its guests Monday (Feb. 4) afternoon shortly after the nearby Uvas Reservoir reached capacity and began to spill over its banks, according to NBC 7.

The Santa Clara Valley Water District said there is no imminent flood risk downstream.

"They said we had to leave," Morgan Hill resident Lambert Lorette said of the Thousand Trails owned campground.

Water district officials later reported water flow was decreasing. Uvas Reservoir, along with Almaden and Vasona reservoirs, have all reached capacity thanks to recent storms that hit the region.
