Buried under snow, Yosemite will see a slow start to spring this year, according to the SF Gate.
The national park announced Wednesday (March 13) roads and facilities closed for winter will open later than usual as the park wakes from a winter marked by relentless storms.
Plowing will begin on Glacier Point and Tioga roads in April, but neither road is expected to be open before Memorial Day. Last year Tioga Road opened on May 21.
The installation of the Half Dome cables, the Mariposa Grove Visitor Shuttle, and car access to the Mariposa Grove parking areas will also be delayed, and visitors should check the Yosemite website for information on opening dates.
